Jane Harris

Educator. Storyteller. Lifelong learner

Jane Harris has spent many years in the classroom, where she’s known for celebrating children’s voices, especially through reading and student writing. She’s passionate about helping kids and adults stay curious, grow confidence, and keep learning for life.

As a teacher and children’s author, she believes that the best learning sticks when kids are laughing, engaged, and seen. After years in the classroom, she has collected the kinds of moments that can’t be taught from a script: moments of curiosity, surprising honesty, and the everyday choices kids make while growing into themselves.

Her writing reflects what she values most: strong community, practical life skills, and the kind of gentle guidance that helps children build confidence without losing their spark. Jane especially enjoys reading stories to kids and celebrating student writing, where the funniest and most heartfelt insights often appear.

Jane lives on a small hobby farm with her husband and a memorable cast of animals—including a Great Pyrenees, a horse, cats, and pigs who sometimes escape and remind everyone who’s really in charge.

Jane is available for select school visits, read-alouds, and educator conversations. For interviews, collaborations, and bulk orders, contact on the given form.
